Leveraging its experience and content in the outdoor marketplace, Rand McNally's Foris 850 comes loaded with millions of miles of high-quality street and trail maps, a sturdy bike mount, and an easy-to-use interface with on-device help.

Announced at the Outdoor Retailer show, Winter Market, the Foris 850 has been in beta testing and reviews by outdoor enthusiasts since January. Received favorably, the Foris 850 is the result of collaboration between Rand McNally and Falk Outdoor Navigation, a business unit of United Navigation Limited.

"The Foris is designed to provide a 'trail ready' experience out of the box with everything included to get outside and go," explained Dave Marsh, Vice President of Research and Development, Rand McNally. Today at the 2013 Mid-America Trucking Show, Rand McNally unveiled its new IntelliRoute TND 520 connected GPS device for professional drivers. The TND 520, which includes a new ruggedized case, Lifetime Maps, and a host of new features, will be available for sale starting in May.

Expanding its presence in GPS navigation with units designed specifically for the outdoor marketplace, Rand McNally today unveiled its new Foris handheld device at the Outdoor Retailer show. The company also showed off its latest GPS for RVs and campers, the RVND 7720.

JVC's 2013 Navigation Units Feature Smartphone Integration And HD Radio "Active Alerts"

JVC today unveiled the new KW-NT310, KW-NT510HDT, and the KW-NT810HDT navigation units for 2013 which offer much more than responsive route directions but also enable the driver simultaneous access to enhanced features including HD Radio Active Alerts, iHeartRadio’s, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s all-in-one digital radio service, “My Stations” feature and extended compatibility with internet streaming radio services for Android phones. Out of the three new in-dash navigation units, two are 6.1-inch touchscreen models and the other is a 7-inch motorized touchscreen.

Alpine Introduces 2013 Audio/Video/Navigation System Lineup

Alpine is expanding its audio-video-navigation (AVN) system lineup by offering the systems in three different screen sizes. They will be displayed at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), taking place Jan. 8-11, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

In 2012, Alpine introduced the groundbreaking INE-Z928HD AVN system with an 8-inch WVGA screen; the largest screen available for the aftermarket. For 2013, Alpine’s AVN system lineup welcomes the addition of two new products, the INE-W927HD with a 7-inch screen and the INE-W940 with 6.1-inch screen. Rounding out the lineup is the INE-S920HD with a 6.1-inch screen, which continues from 2012.
